The water was so calm! We also saw the first evidence of toxic algae for the season (we think), plus swarms of mayflies. When I started studying chemistry, I never thought I'd end up studying toxic algal blooms on Lake Erie and fighting off mayfly contamination of my samples! Life is so interesting sometimes...
