Moving via Public Transportation.

Actually, moving via public transportation isn't that bad when you don't have much stuff. My former flatmate Robert (the opera singer) helped get my stuff downstairs and onto the bus, and my new flatmate, Stefanie, came to my old flat and helped me move everything over. Between the two of us, we definitely couldn't have taken any more bags, but we made it in one trip! I am so thankful for Robert and Stefanie's help! I was expecting to have to do everything myself, but they were very kind in helping me- a (almost) complete stranger!

I was able to move my stuff over in the morning, and then I made an IKEA trip in the afternoon to get hangers and the correct size of duvet. IKEA is really quite close to my new flat- 20-25 minutes, depending on how good your bus-tram connection is. I mostly got essentials, but I couldn't resist the orchid section. I heart orchids!

Stefanie (my new flatmate) is really nice, and we cooked lunch and dinner together (fresh pasta with smoked salmon and a cream sauce for lunch, and pizza with prosciutto, ruccola and mascarpone for dinner- yum!). [Stefanie is from the Italian-speaking region of Switzerland, if you can't tell...] We were able to talk for hours, and I think that we will get along well as flatmates. The two other flatmates arrive tomorrow evening from holiday, and I'm looking forward to meeting them.

The thing that will take the most adjustment for this new flat seems to be the bed that I inherited/purchased. It's super bouncy and almost feels like a water bed. I think I kept waking myself up last night when I would move around, because this bed kicks back!

Below is a photo tour of my new place!

I'm looking forward to getting settled and putting stuff on the walls in my room!
