On the Swiss Path (Weg der Schweiz).

Three weekends ago (already!) I went for this hike on the Weg der Schweiz with Melissa. About a year ago, I also did part of the Weg der Schweiz, just on the opposite side of the lake. Since the hike was much closer to Zürich than the ones we had done previously in August, we got to sleep in, which is pretty nice to do every so often!

Our hike started in Sisikon, and we pretty much just hiked straight up the hill from the lake.

Eventually we made it to the top of the hill where there was a great look-out over the lake, and we had a picnic lunch with a panorama view. These pictures just don't do justice to the deep blue-green color of the lake. It was incredible!

Matching Minnesota girls in blue!

We wended our way back down towards the lake, passing through some cute villages and nice shady woods.

Once we made it into Brunnen, we stopped for an Aperol spritz and ice cream, cooled our feet in the lake, and checked out the mini-golf situation before heading back to Zürich.

It was a very pleasant and relaxing hike, and I really enjoyed being able to do some hiking with Melissa while her family was back in the US! Hiking is always better with good company!
