Winter hike by the Senda Ruinaulta.

Last fall I went for a hike near Flims, and this past weekend I did a similar hike, but in the snow. I chose this hike because the area around Flims was supposed to have the only sun within about 200 km of Zürich, and I really needed to see the sun!

By the Walensee.

I love walking in the quiet of winter. The world just looks different under a blanket of snow.

It never ceases to amaze me how different the Alps look in the summer and the winter. Every summer I take the cable cars on my hikes and just can't picture how things look under snow and with all of the skiers, but the transformation happens all the same.

Overall, it was a nice Saturday in the mountains, and I even saw some sun!

Walking in a winter wonderland.

Hiking today near the Senda Ruinaulta.

My new favorite walk.

Today I discovered a really nice walking route (~40 min) between my work and home that runs along the forest and has only 5-ish minutes on any busy roads. It's nice to get out for a good walk, especially since the sun peeked out today, meaning I got to enjoy the sunset on my frosty walk home. I think I'll be doing this more often!

More snow.

At least the snow makes it a little less gray around here...

Adding to my nest.

After returning from the US, I've been adding a few bits of art and organization to my flat. For starters, I got a poster from my visit to Fondation Beyeler this past weekend and put it up. I also brought some 3M command hooks back from the US to hang up some pictures that I had. And, my favorite, I (very cleverly, in my opinion) used the inside of my Advent calendar to organize my earrings, and I now have a drawer for my earrings! Yes, it's the little things...
