To finish the weekend in Strasbourg, on Sunday Aurore and I went to Le Jardin des Deux Rives. The park is a beautiful park on both sides of the Rhine River, one side being in France and the other side being in Germany, with an architecturally interesting bridge connecting the two. (The bridge has two decks- one with steps for pedestrians, and another with a ramp for cyclists.) The park is a symbol of reconciliation and friendship between the France and Germany- there is no border control is you cross the bridge. We wandered around the park, had a picnic, walked up the river, and generally enjoyed soaking up the sun and reveling in the warm, lazy Sunday.
