Wasdale Head: the UK's favorite view.

After our fiasco on the Hardknott Pass, we drove to Wasdale Head, which has been voted the spot with UK's favorite view. There is really only one road to Wasdale Head village. Thankfully, this road was in much better condition than what we had just been on, and it ran along a really beautiful lake (Wastwater).

Eventually we reached Wasdale Head. Mom and dad and I agreed that the view was nice, but it seemed more remarkable for the fact that it just didn't look like it belonged in the UK. I think my favorite view in the UK is in the Peaks. Not that this wasn't pretty, but it isn't my favorite in the UK.

We didn't spend that much time in Wasdale Head, as we didn't want to be anywhere near these small roads towards sunset.

Overall, it was a beautiful drive. I love how the ferns turn such a beautiful, rusty color in the fall. The contrast with the deep green grass is truly striking. It's a little strange that everything is still so green, even in the fall, but it enhances the contrast, for sure!
